Get Involved With WiscoMUN

A Strong Community Makes a Strong Delegate.

How to Join

Join Our Mailing List!

The best way to start getting involved with WiscoMUN is to join our mailing list! We send out weekly emails updating our club members on a wide variety of topics, including, but not limited to:

  • Details for the weekly meeting, including simulation topics, location, and timing,

  • Updates on upcoming conference applications and decisions,

  • Recaps of conferences and awards,

  • Updates on WHSMUN, the conference WiscoMUN members often staff,

  • Club social announcements and attendance forms,

  • And any other important information that pertains to members of WiscoMUN!

Attend a General Meeting or Social!

The best way to get to know fellow delegates in WiscoMUN is by attending General Meetings or Socials!

General Meetings occur every Sunday from 1 pm - 2:30 pm CST in the Student Activity Center, or SAC. Each week, our Executive Board works hard to bring attendees interesting simulations and effective drills that foster community, competitiveness, and growth.

Club Socials are put on about twice a month. Each month will have a high and low-commitment social planned by our Co-Outreach Chairs. These socials offer a space for WiscoMUN delegates to get to know one another more and build lasting relationships. Each conference will also have a social event planned for those attending.

General Meetings and Socials are incredible ways to know if WiscoMUN is a good fit for YOU!

Travel with Us to Conferences!

One of the most exciting opportunities WiscoMUN offers its delegates is travelling around North America to compete in some of the best MUN conferences in the Western Hemisphere.

Delegates can travel to places to Montreal, Chicago, DC, Boston, and more, to compete against the best MUN teams in the nation! These conferences are not only amazing opportunities to experience real-world diplomacy, but also to connect with delegates from UW-Madison and beyond!

WiscoMUN lists all of our upcoming conferences on our website here, so feel free to check them out!

Please note that members must apply to attend each conference. Applications will be sent out via email and Slack when the time comes.

Nervous? Don’t be!

Are you worried because you’ve never done anything like Model UN before?

Don’t be! Many of WiscoMUN’s most talented delegates joined with little to no Model UN experience. Through weekly simulations and workshops, these delegates were able to learn what it takes to excel in MUN, winning many awards.

Or maybe you’re worried because you’re joining without knowing anyone beforehand.

Do not fear, for WiscoMUN works hard to create a welcoming community for all members! Many of WiscoMUN’s incredible delegates have made lasting friendships through the club, despite joining alone. Furthermore, WiscoMUN offers a wide variety of opportunities to get to know other delegates outside of weekly meetings and conferences!

Or maybe you didn’t join as a Freshman, but are interested in joining now.

Do not be afraid to take the leap! WiscoMUN is made up of all grade levels and welcomes all equally. Some of our best delegates and Executive Members joined a year or two into their university experience! There is a place for everyone in WiscoMUN.
